Well, yesterday. We didn't see it in 3-D, as our local theater wasn't offering it that way, but the movie was beautifully done and visually enchanting anyway. Jenni and I both loved it, and it was clear that this was an adaptation of a very good book (author Neil Gaiman recently won a Newberry for another book of his, The Graveyard Book) - the details of the world we are thrust into are thematically consistent and thus have a satisfying resonance as the mirror world of Coraline unravels around her.
Personally, I wouldn't take a kid under eight or so to this movie - the concept is very creepy, and the nightmare unfolds with a lot of gritty details. But then, that's me. There were parents with children as young as four in the audience.
There's a not-so-bad message in there for parents who are glued to their computers. I'll be working in the garden this afternoon... - Jeremiah
