Music Together’s “Family Favorites”

Music Together is a music program for small children that promotes family involvement, and their album Family Favorites is a joy to listen to from beginning to end. A wide variety of styles and instruments, along with a pleasurable mixture of male and female voices, make it both interesting and entertaining. Kids (and adults) will enjoy familiar stories told in new ways, new classics, and ethnic favorites. A polished, thoughtful booklet accompanying the CD offers parents inspiration for teaching music and rhythm.

Our favorites were "The Stick Tune," a fun and upbeat tune that was Z's personal favorite; "She Sells Sea Shells," the clear adult preference for its calming and haunting melody; and "May All Children," was the best song on the album both for its message and its sweet melody. You can listen to a choral arrangement of "May All Children," and find out more about Music Together programs, on the Music Together website at www.musictogether.com.

Here's an intro video produced for promotional purposes that gives you a sense of what Music Together is about. There are other programs like it - Z attends Kindermusic classes in our town, and loves them. She began a year ago and then attended a parent-child class, and now goes to one for older children that is kids-only.
